Eight Apartments in Pearl Destroyed in Overnight FirePearl, Miss- The Pearl Fire Department responded to 9-1-1 calls of a large fire in an eight unit building at the Grand Apartment Complex on Colony Park Blvd. off Pearson Rd. just after midnight on Monday. The first responding police officer was able to alert and assist residents in evacuating the building. As firefighters arrived, all four units on the second floor of the building were engulfed in flames. Due to the size of the fire, all four Pearl Fire Stations were dispatched to the scene and it took nearly two hours to get the blaze under control. All eight units in the building were destroyed, the four on top burned and the four on the bottom from smoke and water damage. Two residents had minor injuries from evacuating and were treated and released at the scene. Thankfully there were no other injuries to residents or any Pearl firefighters. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Great job by Pearl Firefighters as they battled a mobile home fire on South Pearson Rd at the railroad tracks Wednesday afternoon. Thankfully no one was inside and the unit appeared unoccupied. FD quickly got the fire under control before it could spread to nearby trailers. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Pearl is now all clear for severe storms. This is video of circulation moving over city hall during the warning. Thankfully no reports of damage in the city. Jake Windham-Mayor of Pearl #pearlready
